CALL FOR PAPERS
|
The 2003
BISC International Workshop on "SOFT
COMPUTING FOR INTERNET BIOINFORMATICS" will
be held in the ComputerScience Division
of the University of California, Berkeley, from December 15 -19. UC
Berkeley
is a preeminent research institution in the proximity of Silicon Valley.
At the dawn of
the new
millennium, we can expect dramatic increase in the use of fuzzy logic inthe
Bioinofrmatics and internet applications, since we have to deal with an
increasing amount of data, that is mainlyunstructured
and designed for human access. Therefore, it is usually hard to extract
relevant informationautomatically.
These aspects will be reflected in the subjects treated at this 2003
BISC
InternationalWorkshop.
The main
purpose of the
Workshop is to draw the attention of the fuzzy logic community as well
as the Bioinformatics and internet community to the fundamentalimportance
of specific Internet-related problems. The BISC
Program invites researchers from around the world who are interested in
advancingthe frontiers of the Bioinformatics
and Internet by use of fuzzy logic and soft computing methods. The
Workshop
will providea unique opportunity
for the academic and corporate communities to address new challenges,
sharesolutions,
and discuss research directions for the future. Technical topics of
interest
include, but are notlimited to:

CALL FOR INVITED SESSIONS
|
The goal of
the invited
sessions is to provide focused discussion on a new topic, or innovative
applications of a new approach. Proposals for invited sessions should
be
submitted by Oct 31, 2003, to the Program Chair. Each invited session
consists
of three papers, which will be reviewed through the normal
process.
The proposal should be submitted by the session organizer, and include
a brief statement of the focus of the paper, along with authors and
titles
of each paper submitted
electronically.
